Special event flyovers, fireworks and aerial displays in Washington, D.C., are planned throughout the summer in connection with America 250 celebrations. During these aerial events, flights will be suspended at the airport.

  • July 3: No DCA flights will operate from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The airport will be open with terminal services operating normally.
  • July 4: No DCA flights will operate from 12 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. The airport will be open with extremely limited terminal concessions during these times. Security screening in Terminal 2 will be at the north checkpoint only.
  • Information on future events will be posted closer to the event date.

There are no approved locations for fireworks and flyover viewing at DCA.

  • Parking in some airport facilities may be limited to reserved customers only.
  • Metrorail customers can follow signs from the airport station to off-airport viewing locations.
  • Plan accordingly for hot and humid weather conditions.

Airlines have been working to inform customers about canceled or rescheduled flights. Passengers traveling on July 3 and 4 are encouraged to re-confirm their specific flights with their airline.
